Mayo Dark Sky Park Development Officer/IRC Employment-based PhD project
The management and operation of Mayo Dark Sky Park is run by National Parks & Wildlife with a dedicated Dark Sky Development Officer.
This is part of a 4 year funded research project via the Irish Research Council to study the value of dark skies as a sustainable tourism initiative and natural phenomenon.

Friends of Mayo Dark Skies
The Friends of Mayo Dark Skies is an approved Chapter of the International Dark Sky Association. This community group hosts Mayo Dark Sky Festival in collaboration with Mayo Dark Sky Park each year.
As a voluntary community group it supports all objectives of the Mayo Dark Sky Park and continues research and development of the dark sky initiative.
