At the 2020 virtual Mayo Dark Sky Festival we were thrilled to launch this beautiful artwork by Artist and Astronomer Dr. Tyler Nordgren.
Wild Nephin National Park becomes Mayo Dark Sky Park at night and so “Half the Park is After Dark” (trade marked by Tyler Nordgren); is a key message for our park. This is the first commission outside of the USA to have permission to use the tagline.
The image depicts the Milky Way over one of our signature Dark Sky viewing points; Claggan Mountain Coastal Trail.
