Visitor Centre Facilities

Our visitor centre at Ballycroy National Park provides excellent facilities as well as an educational programme, interpretive exhibition and information on Dark Skies.

Ginger and Wild Café offers fresh, home-made food daily in a most unique setting with stunning views of the Wild Atlantic Coast.

The Visitor Centre is open during March to November, seven days a week from 10.00 to 17.30. Outside of these times, visitors are still welcome to come and explore the Dark Sky Park sites (please be considerate of local residents when visiting at night).

Welcome to Mayo Dark Sky Park. Mayo is now home to Ireland’s first International Dark Sky Park, showcasing some of the darkest, most pristine skies in the world.
