Would you associate any of these concepts with darkness? Would you be willing to share your experience of the dark sky park? What draws you to it, how you feel about nocturnal environs and what stories you may have about the night.
As part of an Irish Research Council PhD Scholarship, Georgia MacMillan (Mayo Dark Sky Park Development Officer) will be conducting Weekly Walking Interviews in the Mayo Dark Sky Park during the winter season.
2023 research interviews will commence 13th January at 8pm. Locations & Dates (8pm start):
Friday 3rd February – Ballycroy Visitor Centre
Friday 10th, 17th**, 24th February – Letterkeen Bothy
Friday 3rd March – Ballycroy Visitor Centre
Friday 10th March, 17th, 24th March – Letterkeen Bothy
** 17th Feb event requires prebooking, restricted places.
Stargazing will be included along the route if weather conditions permit.
Duration: Approx 2.5 hours
By separate arrangement, in depth interviews with focus groups of 4 can be arranged in advance for a selected dates.
