Special Guest Dr. Sibylle Schroer who will present her talk “Human Centric versus Nature Centric Lighting”

To open our 2023 series of talks, we are thrilled to welcome Dr Sibylle Schroer to present her talk entitled “Human Centric versus Nature Centric Lighting”

In 2017, Sibylle received the Galileo Award from the International Dark-Sky Association (IDA) for combating light pollution worldwide. The Award is given in recognition of outstanding achievements in research or academic work on light pollution over a multiple year period.

Sibylle has been science coordinator of the Light Pollution and Ecophysiology Working Group at the Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (IGB) in Berlin, Germany since 2010. Since 2022, she is coordinator for research about freshwater biodiversity and sustainability at the IGB. Sibylle has studied horticulture science and holds a PhD in agriculture. Her research interest is the protection of insects and their habitat from anthropogenic impact.
